Professor Jaideep Prabhu, chaired professor of innovation & marketing and Cambridge University faculty lead for digital education delivery, at Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) endorses ChangeSchool’s coaching sessions.

“I delivered a webinar on frugal innovation in large and small firms in developed and emerging economies for ChangeSchool’s British Council programme on March 28, 2018.

To prepare for the webinar I worked with Neil Marshall and Viren Lall over a couple of days prior to the webinar itself. I have developed and delivered similar webinars in the past in my role as professor of marketing at Cambridge Judge Business School. So I went into the process with some preconceived ideas of what to do, quite confident that my approach was fine. Neil and Viren quickly disabused me of these notions! In a short space of time, I realised that my old approach needed to be brought into the 21st century and made fit for purpose for the online medium.

They showed me how to make my sessions and material more interactive, including by 1) setting up short cases that offered challenges to the participants to comment on using the chat feature (rather than simply telling them how companies respond to these challenges), 2) presenting examples and then asking students to derive underlying principles (rather than simply presenting these principles to them), and 3) testing students’ learning by showing examples and asking them through real-time polls what were the relevant principles involved.

All these approaches worked very well during the webinar itself, with a great deal of lively interaction between Viren, the students and myself, using the chat feature, voice and polls.

Overall, I enjoyed the whole process and learned a great deal in the process.”
